Lighting Design, Installation, and Programming
Designed and installed a custom networked lighting system for a large-scale amusement ride, creating a dynamic visual experience across the attraction. Developed the lighting layout and system architecture using CAD drawings, fabricated custom control cabinets, and coordinated the installation and commissioning of the complete system.
With only two nights available for installation, I led the installation primarily independently with one additional technician, managing equipment installation, wiring, controls integration, programming, testing, and troubleshooting under an extremely compressed schedule.
The completed system communicates wirelessly with a ground-based control cabinet, providing reliable communication between the ride-mounted lighting cabinet and the central show control infrastructure. This allows the hundreds of individually controlled pixels and high-output fixtures on the attraction to be programmed and synchronized with musical shows and other entertainment elements, creating coordinated lighting effects across the entire ride.
