To help “anchor” the seasonal spooky offerings at the entrance to the park, I pitched an idea to temporarily replace the park’s main street flagpole with an imposing animatronic scarecrow that would be the “maestro” of the surrounding light show come nightfall. Throughout the day leading up to the nighttime shows, the scarecrow was entirely static, adding to the eerie atmosphere as it began to unexpectedly move with cracking sound effects and narrate the show as the sun went down.

While the pixels had been used in prior seasons, in my opinion the quick 2-minute shows lacked a cohesive story or rhythm between sequences. To help remedy this, I created a 10-minute show that would play twice an hour that featured a unified soundtrack and narration from the “scarecrow host” with either ambient or fun sequences in between shows.
