ALPINE COASTER LIGHTING

Lighting Design, Installation, and Programming

Developed initial concept art, design drawings, and system layout for a large-scale lighting installation on an existing alpine coaster. The new system replaced outdated equipment that lacked proper lighting control and was showing signs of failure.

Led the complex installation, establishing power, DMX512, and network connectivity for hundreds of fixtures spanning nearly a mile of track and more than 300 feet of elevation change.

With the large physical scope of the project, a key element of the design was decentralizing control across seven asynchronous lighting controllers, each capable of communicating over Ethernet with a master to switch modes, monitor system performance, and upload new shows, and synchronize show timing, while maintaining low overall network traffic.
